Grief Coach, Artist & Somatic Guide
A Mother Learning to Carry the Unimaginable
When my sixteen-year-old son, Oliver, died from osteosarcoma, the world I knew shattered. Like many grieving parents, I found myself asking questions I never expected to ask:

How do I carry this?
Who am I now?
What does it mean to keep living when someone I love is gone?

In the years that followed, I immersed myself in grief education, coaching, yoga, mindfulness, expressive arts, and countless practices designed to help people navigate profound loss. What began as a search for survival gradually became a path toward healing, meaning, and renewed connection with life.

A Second Loss,
A Different Grief
Years later, grief arrived again.
Following the death of my husband of twenty-five years, I found myself standing in an entirely different landscape. What surprised me most was that many of the tools that had supported me after Oliver's death were no longer enough on their own.
This grief asked different questions.

It carried different complexities.
It required different forms of support.

Through that experience, I came to understand something that deeply informs my work today: grief is not a single journey. It is a lifelong relationship that changes as we change. What helps us in one season of loss may not be what we need in the next.
Thrivologie was born from that understanding.
Today, I offer compassionate, trauma-informed support for grieving people who are learning how to carry loss while remaining connected to life. Through coaching, creative expression, body-based practices, community, and meaningful conversation, I help people honor their grief, regulate their nervous systems, reconnect with themselves, and discover that healing does not mean leaving love behind.

This work is rooted in both professional training and lived experience.

More than anything, it is rooted in a belief that grief and life can coexist.

Your grief is welcome here. Your love is welcome here.

And so is the life that is still unfolding.

Creativity
Helps Us Heal
Writing, art, movement, music, and other forms of expression can help us process experiences that words alone cannot hold.
3
Regulation Creates Possibility
When we feel safer in our bodies and nervous systems, we gain access to choice, connection, creativity, and hope.
1
Grief and Life
Can Coexist
Healing does not mean getting over your loss. It means carrying what happened while remaining open to love, meaning, connection, and purpose.
4
Your Story Matters
There is no right timeline for grief. Your experiences, memories, questions, and emotions deserve to be witnessed and honored with compassion.
6
We Are Always Becoming
Loss changes us, but it does not end our story. Even in heartbreak, something within us continues to unfold.
5
Healing Happens in Community
While grief is deeply personal, healing is often supported by being seen, understood, and accompanied by others who care.
Experience Meets Lived Wisdom
My work is rooted in both personal experience and professional training.
For more than two decades, I have studied the ways people heal, grow, and reconnect with life after profound change.
What began with yoga teaching and then health coaching gradually expanded into grief education, expressive arts, trauma-informed coaching, mindfulness, somatic practices, memoir writing, and community facilitation.
Along the way, I learned that healing is rarely one thing. It is often a weaving together of body, mind, creativity, story, community, and meaning.
Today, I bring together lived experience, professional education, and twenty-two years of teaching, coaching, and supporting others through life's most difficult transitions.

Training & Credentials
While lived experience is at the heart of my work, I also believe grief support deserves skill, training, and ethical practice. Over the past two decades, I have pursued education in grief, coaching, expressive arts, trauma-informed practice, yoga, mindfulness, and holistic healing.

The Things That
Bring Me Back to Myself

Big hikes and new adventures with
my sons.

Dahlias, lavender, and peonies in bloom.

Watching our dog Appa be endlessly silly and kind.

Art journals filled with color, texture, and possibility.

Poetry that says what I can't find words for.

Listening to the song birds with my morning tea.
